It’s All About Heart Talk
Posted by admin in Therapy, Treatment on 12 8th, 2009| icon3No Comments »

Millions of people die each year because of heart problems and complications that come along with it. This disease accounts for most cases of debilitation and even death, especially in adults, but recently, it has been noted that heart problems can be found in young children.

A common characteristic in many young children today is their tendency to have large waistlines just like a typical adult. Obesity ranks as one of top causes of heart problems. Most children who are obese are not involved in certain activities. Children should ideally do activities like playing and sports but a lifestyle without this is prone to develop a high risk for heart problems later on.

Heart problems arise in children due to many factors. Congenital heart defects are problems that kids are born with. The good thing is that, the numbers are already reduced due to advanced technology. Heart murmur, on the other hand, sometimes is considered a symptom to a larger problem but hereditary heart problems are not that common unlike any other hereditary diseases.

Children who have heart problems exhibit common symptoms such as shortness of breath, a blue tinge in skin around the lips, and they easily tire when doing simple work. This is due to the reduced oxygen supply in the body. Most parents worry that their children won’t stay long due to their illness and die instantly. Fortunately, this is not the usual case. Some of these children can live even longer due to certain treatments and medications.

Cardiologists can be consulted to take care of this issue. Parents of these kids usually see their pediatrician every now and then but not all heart problems need life-long medications. There are some cases where treatment may not be necessary. Minor heart problems in children sometimes are gone after a couple of years after.

It is important to understand what our heart is saying. A simple murmur may sound nothing but, can create a great dilemma in the end. Everything should not be disregarded for the reason that, reviving a dying heart is hard to achieve.

Like a large number of individuals my age, I am also a fitness buff - doing five kilometer runs at least three times a week and swimming on weekends. Cardio exercises are on top of my daily routines. When I have time and money, I also play tennis and badminton. As of this time, I am saving up for a lightweight bike I can use for training rides, mountain trailing and just plain reconnoitering.

These activities have been a part of me for many years. But if you think that I have that athletic physique by now, that’s when things start to show less of me. My body does not reflect my active lifestyle well. That’s because my metabolism happens to be rather slow. Five kilometer runs and two hour non-stop badminton games do not always make me sweat out. Too often, I would just end up panting and feeling sticky but not as drenched as the others.

Through all these activities, supplements such as essential oils help me stay fit. Food supplements make up for nutrients that are denatured over time through improper food handling, care and cooking. Essential oils help aid in loss fat loss and eventually improve our skin, hair and nails. It hydrates the skin and keeps it smooth with fewer wrinkles. And it allows hair and nails to grow healthier and more rapidly.

Essential oils are mainly comprised of flaxseed oil, pumpkin seed oil, sesame oil and sunflower oil. Other essential oils include coconut oil, evening primrose oil, soy lecithin, oat bran and oat germ oils and rosemary extract among others. These oils are taken orally and may also be added on salads, fish, protein shakes and veggies. However, these oils should not be used in cooking; otherwise you break its nutrient contents. These should also be kept cold.

The Benefits of Water Therapy
Posted by admin in Therapy on 07 2nd, 2009| icon3No Comments »

Water is considered as the universal solvent and is the ultimate source of life. As experts agree, water is one of the most important things we need in order to survive. It cleanses, detoxifies, and nourishes the body, eliminating all the unwanted toxins we unsuspectingly ingest. Every internal function of our body depends on water. Without it, our cells will dry up, ions will not be exchanged, and blood will be far too viscous to deliver vital elements and nutrients as well as oxygen to remote parts of our body.

Here are some benefits that water provides to our body.

  • It prevents dehydration.
  • Diseases involving the vital organs of the body can be prevented.
  • It expels free radicals and toxins out of the body.
  • It can lessen appetite which aids in the necessary loss of weight.
  • It permits a zero calorie state.
  • It aids in the faster metabolism rate of the body.

Diseases that can be cured by water therapy are:

  • Obesity
  • Kidney stone
  • Allergies and asthma
  • Constipation
  • Anxiety and depression
  • High blood pressure

The positive effects mentioned above may vary depending on the amount of water taken in. If you follow the general rule of drinking 8-10 glasses of water each day, you are sure to avoid serious illnesses and body complications. No matter what fitness program you enroll in, without taking the desirable amount of water, you cannot reap the maximum potentials of the whole weight loss procedure.

Always consider taking clean and safe drinking water. It provides more energy while making you lose weight and helping you avoid serious diseases. There is no substitute for water. Sodas, coffee, and the like can never replace the benefits that water alone can provide. So if you’ve consumed too much of these beverages thinking they are enough to meet the fluid requirements of the body, you better think again. As it is said, there are no alternatives for water.

Care for an effective, cost-free therapy? Use water.
